Latino Art Beat is offering $1,000-minimum scholarships to the winners of its 2018 visual arts competition for high school juniors and seniors. The theme for the arts competition is “What Hispanic Heritage & Culture Means to Me.” Artwork must be sent digitally via email to Latino Art Beat for judging; it must be accompanied by an entry form and original essay describing the piece. Latino Art Beat is also offering a film workshop this summer for film and animation students who attend a high school or college in Illinois. Attendees will produce a short film as part of the workshop. Film students interested must submit a recent film work of 15 minutes or less total running time. The deadline for all entries is May 18.
